Cook Sicilian Food

Sicilian Recipes

In the 90s, before I got into Computers, I wanted to be a Nutritionist. I learned a lot about the diet industry and how many claim quick, dramatic, and unbelievable results by using their power bars, pills, shakes, and gadgets. Many have not been proven safe or effective. So, I typed this book on my Brother Electric typewriter to share with you  how to Design Your Own Personal Weight Loss Plan and Know Exactly What to Do and Why. Learn how food and the body work together. It is very motivating. Calculate your BMI and BMR and eat exactly the amount of food your body needs. You will be very happy. Choose foods from the US Exchange list of Carbs, Fats, Vegies, and Proteins. Record your progress on a template included with book, and try some simple recipes and exercises.  Also included are Standard Common Measurements, Physical Activity Guidelines, and a section all about Water.

Calculate Your Body Mass Index (BMI)
Compare your height to your weight to see if you are overweight, underweight or at a healthy weight.

Measure your height in inches and square it
(multiply number by same number)
60" x 60" = 3600

Weigh yourself on your bathroom scale in pounds
Divide your weight in pounds by the height figure
120 lbs / 3600 = 0.0333

Multiply that answer by 703
0.0333 x 703 = 24.4

A BMI of less than 18 means you are under weight.
A BMI of less than 18.5 means you are thin for your height.
A BMI between 18.6-24.9 means you are at a healthy weight.
A BMI between 25 and 29.9 means you are overweight.
A BMI of 30 or greater indicates obesity.
